چکیده

In recent years, we have witnessed a flourishing of 3D object modelling. Efficient and effective 3D model retrieval algorithms are high desired and attracted intensive research attentions. In this work, we propose a view-based 3D model retrieval algorithm based onweighted locality-constrained group sparse coding. Representative views are first selected by clustering and the corresponding weights are provided by considering the relationship among these views. By grouping the views from 3D models, a localityconstrained group sparse coding method is employed to find the reconstruction residual for each query view. The distance between query model and candidate model is taken as the weighted sum of residual. The query model is matched to the model which can best reconstruct the query model. Experimental comparisons have been conducted on the ETH 3D model dataset, and the results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method. & 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Locality-constrained sparse patch coding for 3D shape retrieval

3D shape retrieval is a fundamental task in many domains such as multimedia, graphics, CAD, and amusement. In this paper, we propose a 3D object retrieval approach by effectively utilizing low-level patches of 3D shapes, which are similar as superpixels in images. These patches are first obtained by means of stably over-segmenting 3D shape, and then we adopt five representative geometric featur...

Top-down saliency with Locality-constrained Contextual Sparse Coding

We propose a locality-constrained contextual sparse coding (LCCSC) for top-down saliency estimation where higher saliency scores are assigned to the image locations corresponding to the target object. Three locality constraints are integrated in to this novel sparse coding. First is the spatial or contextual locality constraint in which features from adjacent regions have similar code, second i...

Multi-Scale Locality-Constrained Spatiotemporal Coding for Local Feature Based Human Action Recognition

We propose a Multiscale Locality-Constrained Spatiotemporal Coding (MLSC) method to improve the traditional bag of features (BoF) algorithm which ignores the spatiotemporal relationship of local features for human action recognition in video. To model this spatiotemporal relationship, MLSC involves the spatiotemporal position of local feature into feature coding processing. It projects local fe...

Pose Locality Constrained Representation for 3D Human Pose Reconstruction

Reconstructing 3D human poses from a single 2D image is an ill-posed problem without considering the human body model. Explicitly enforcing physiological constraints is known to be non-convex and usually leads to difficulty in finding an optimal solution. An attractive alternative is to learn a prior model of the human body from a set of human pose data. In this paper, we develop a new approach...
